The Top 11

American Idol – The Top 11

Favorite Line: I can blow you out of your socks! Hey! It’s a family show!

Back by popular demand, Beatles songs. Who’s popular demand?!? I want them to get to the other themes. And quickly. Never before have I wished so much for Salsa/Miami Sound night to be here. Ok….I may have put a little on that one (translation – I am exaggerating), but Beatles songbook is not a good selection for this group.

Amanda – Please of please voter her off. She sounds the same every song. Absolutely no range. Simon said it best and she has to show some type of variety for THIS contest. Who cares who she wants to fill her concert hall at the local VFW. This is a very specific contest.

Kristy – #1 problem: She should listen to the song and pick one that fits her voice and style. Not by the title of the song. She did not understand the mood of the song at all. Her main issue is her lack of style and her stage performance. Her voice is ok. But expect her to be the 1 of 2 at the end of the result show.

David A. – He must redeem himself. He shoots, he scores! Solid performance. He went back to what he knows. The audience was terrible during this song and interrupted my ability to enjoy it. They need to return to them *ssholes in their seats so that we can hear the performance. David was good though.

Michael Johns – I really liked him in the beginning. But he too may be following in the steps of Amanda where each song is starting to sound the same. He sung a great song but not chopped up the way it was. Awful! There were some great parts but as a whole it was terrible. Hold on…yes, Paula AND Ryan – you just made a bad situation worse by making Michael look like an ass. Good job, cheerleaders!

Brooke – Very safe performance. I think much of her songs are done with very little accompaniment and basically a cappella. She seemed a little awkward when she was moving around the stage. But the singing was sweet and pleasant. Not enough to win the contest but definitely enough to keep her here. She just needs to listen to the judges because her talking is making it awkward and worse. Just nod.

David Cook – Ok fine! He’s good. He has really chipped down my resistance by his pure talent. He is really good. Perfect song and solid performance.

Carly – My absolutely favorite. I am not a fan of the song but she did well with it. I just wish the audience would shut the hell up!!!! This is a soft song. Hard to do with the fools waving their arms off beat and screaming every 3 seconds! She was great! But hard to really shine because of the mood of the crowd. I didn’t agree with Simon. I think he was feeding off the audience being off, her awful blouse, and being all tattooed up. I think her on stool, long sleeves, no audience – it would have been different for him.

John – He is such an idiot. No more interviews for him. Wow! He was able to sing this song with very little conviction, energy or feeling. Talk about singing wallpaper. That is a description of that performance. He can be good, but he has to choose the right songs. Oh no! Ryan is going to talk to him. He is like a male Kelly Pickler.

Syesha – Chills. Beautiful performance. She looked great. Talk about singing with feeling and emotion. You felt her connection with that song. I could hear that song on the radio. You go girl!

Chikezie – Not his best performance. The beginning was really shaky. Why do all of his Beatles sound like bluegrass? But I do like him. Keep him in!!! It got better towards the end. I agree with Randy that the slow part was bad, fast part good.

Ramile – I think she should have tried Penny Lane. No, Michael Johns or John Castro should have done Penny Lane. Her performance was upbeat but not necessarily less boring. She has a great voice, just trying to find her niche. I like her personality and I want her to have another chance.

Top performances: Syesha, Carly, Both Davids.

Bottom performances: Kristy, John and Amanda. Going home – Kristy, her time is up. We shall see. Cya!
