The Top 9

Not sure about Adam Lambert as a mentor but willing to have an open mind.

Who will go home?

Top 11

6 Boys, 5 girls...loser goes home tomorrow and the rest come to your town!

The Top 12

6 boys and 6 girls perform. 2 go home tomorrow. The final 10 will go on the American Idol tour.

American Idol - Top 8 Boys

Let's bring it boys!

The Best:

Michael Lynche - Love it! He did a memorable and perfect performance. It was heartfelt. He is definitely in the lead of all the boys.

Casey James - I liked his guitar performance. I thought he was relaxed as he played and stayed in the moment. You could really hear the richness of his voice and I love his tone.

Lee Dewyze - Even though his performances are sounding alike to me, I liked it. I think he is talented but I think he is suffering from lack of personality. Not sure who he is.

Andrew Garcia - I liked his attempt at Genie in a Bottle. I thought it was better towards the end because he slowed it down. I didn't think it was an authentic performance since he basically said he was just trying to impress the judges. But I think its enough to keep him in.

The Okay:

Alex Lambert - I love the tone of his voice. He reminded me of the lead singer of Simply Red tonight. He is also getting more confident. He needs to work on his stage presence and continue to choose songs that fits his voice. May be hard for him once it gets to theme night.

The Bad:

Tim Urban - They made a mistake inviting him back. He just isn't good enough. His performance was definitely better tonight but he continues to be outshined by other better performers.

Todrick Hall - He needs to be on Broadway. He is a dance. He is theatre. He is not a radio or pop recording artist. He can sing..very well! But he choose bad songs and refuses to play the game to make it through each week. So alas, he will be going home.

Aaron Kelly - The baby of the group. 2 years ago there were 2 young people on stage but Aaron just doesn't have the maturity to be there. All his songs seem like they are being performed by a amateur. His voice is going to change anyway, so the performer he is now is not who he is going to be later.

So going home? Should be Tim and Aaron. Will probably be Tim and Rodrick. We shall see. Until tomorrow....c-ya!

Top 8 Girls

Let's go!

Katie Stevens – Break Away – Terrible start to the night. Boring performance, missed notes….pack your bag.

Siobhan Magnus – House of the Rising Sun – Not horrible. Odd song choice on a pop show. She sang it well. She is just an odd duck! I think she’s in.

Lacey Brown – The Story – She sounds the same each week. I haven’t been blown away by her yet. She is just okay to me but she definitely make it.

Katelyn Epperly - I Feel the Earth Move – It was sooooo old fashion. It had hotel lobby all over it. It was corny. I think she has something…just haven’t seen it yet.

Didi Benami – It was okay. Am I just jaded? I am NOT feeling the girls this year. Good song choice, sang well. But really, so what?!?

Paige Miles – Smile – Is this old song week?!? She blew her chance. She deserves to go home. This is not the right competition for her because she doesn’t know herself. She is what most hate about this show – talentless posers singing karaoke. She did little to change the perception.

Crystal Bowersox – Give Me One Reason to Stay Here – The only truly talented musician and potential artist out of the group. Perfect performance.

Lily Stevens - I Fall To Pieces – Broken record….I hate the girls!!! This show is falling to pieces this year! She is different, but too different to really fit this competition. Crystal is the only one that I would want as an idol right now.

Going home? Should be Katie Stevens and Katelyn Epperly. I feel they will continue to stink up the stage. Paige will probably go home instead but I think once they tell her what to do, she will sing well. But alas, she probably wont get the chance. We shall see. Until tomorrow…c-ya!

Top 10 Girls

Crystal Bowersox – I hope she wins for the simple dental plan. I hate being mean (no I don’t!) but the missing teeth just bothers me. Health insurance issues in real life. Anyway she is a very talented singer. I had hoped that the song would pick up but she did sing it very well. She is definitely the one to beat out of the girls.

Haeley Vaughn – I am allowed to say this…if she could close her lips around those big teeth of hers, she might be good. No connection to the song, straight up high school musical. Not sure who is helping her but they need to be voted off too! I just don’t see her listening to the advice and getting better. She can sing…but definitely not ready for this level of competition.

Lacey Brown – Nice song. So what? She can sing…all of them can. She has to distinguish herself from the rest of the singers in some way. She is a one hit wonder at best right now.

Katie Stevens – She can sing and has a beautiful voice. I am reminded of Katherine McPhee. I think she should push herself musical along, like Randy said.

Didi Benami - Right off the bat, poor song choice. She can’t pull off this song off and its really easy. Her voice was not strong enough to pull off gospel. Bad, bad, bad song choice.

Michelle Delamor - Boring. I don’t see her as an artist, not distinct at all. She is a pretty girls but she was just lame.

Lily Scott – It sounded good if I didn’t look at her. She was a little too affected for me. She should have been on a stool and taken it down a notch. But she is talented. So close to Adele. Okay…I disagree with the judges wholeheartedly! Good, not wow, not great.

Katelyn Epperly - Very pretty girl. Song sounded good. Nice, soft, pretty. The facial expressions were mildly distracting. I would like to see more from her.

Paige Miles – She can sing. That’s not the problem. She doesn’t scream personality. Her performance was so what!!! I am disappointed most by her because she can blow…I just am not hearing it.

Siobhan Magnus - She should have THOUGHT before choosing this song. Not good. They are all liars. She hit a good note…so what. It hurts me to listen to her talk.

Lacey and Michelle are going home. Haeley has a backing. But we shall see. Until tomorrow..c-ya!

Top 10 Boys

One of the girls is sick, so its the boys up first. Let's get to it.

Michael Lynch – I have liked Michael but he needed a song where he was singing and not just talking to music. I liked his versatility but wanted to hear him actually sing. Good start to the night though.

John Park – Korean?!? I am rooting for him! : ) Definitely better this week. But I think he was pitchy in places and still too karaoke. Not enough soul to pull off a Mayer song…I guess John doesn’t have HIS ghetto pass.

Casey James – Low energy still! He is talented but so laid back. Not sure if it comes off too mild. I kept waiting for him to bust out and he just calmly sang the lyrics. I would have to agree that it was a little boring.

Alex Lambert – I love his voice. The video was not a good for him. I am glad he came out there and did well. But expectations were so lowered for him because we had just heard about him being scared sh*tless before going on stage. The song ended on a sour note. But he did so much better and I would like for him to stick around.

Todrick Hall – Okay..I guess I get turning this song into a slow song. But again, this did not make the song better. Different? Yes. Memorable? No. I thought the more he got into it, it was better. But not enough. And the ending was off to me.

Jermaine Sellers – I am not a fan of his hair. It’s distracting to me. And his voice seems like he is straining a lot of the time. Not a bad performance. Maybe enough to keep him in. But I am not motivated to vote.

Andrew Garcia – This is what they mean by just sing! If you can blow, the proof will be in the pudding. I am not a total fan of this arrangement but I think its because of the band this time. They sound weird….but he is doing it. I want to see him get into it more though.

Aaron Kelly - Not a bad performance for a 12 year old. I think for the more mature fans of idol his performance is too juvenile. David Archuleta had a way of being young but mature at the same time. But he doesn't pull it off.

Tim Urban – He shouldn’t be there at all. That sums it up. He is a weak singer and that’s me being nice.

Lee Dewyze - He is the best out of the boys to me. I think the Top 10 is his to lose. I think he is the most radio ready out of the bunch. Good performance.

Lee and Andrew were the best of the night for me tonight. I hope Tim and Aaron are going home. Unfortunately it will probably be John and Jermaine. Although they were not great, they deserve to stay longer than the other 2. We shall see on Thursday. C-ya!

Top 12 Girls

THIS is American Idol. Let's begin:

Paige Miles – It’s Alright Now
She can sing but still a so-what performance. This is closest to Karoake land that AI gets to. I agree with Simon, poor song selection. High note at the end does not save the performance. The rest of the song was very low.

Ashley Rodriguez – Happy
Yawn! This is a bad start to the new season. Okay, you can sing, But the best of the rest?!? Naw, playa. This did not make me “happy”.

Janell Wheeler – What About Love?
I loved her Hollywood week audition. This performance was pretty typical and boring. Not memorable at all. They are losing what made them special in the first place. Allison Archuleta would have rocked that song last year.

Lilly Scott – Fixin’ a Hole
I liked it as it went on, original. But again, will I remember this tomorrow? No. Was I blown away? No. But it was original and she should definitely stay another week.

Katelyn Epperly – Oh Darling
She can sing but I was distracted by the Xanadu outfit. She looked tacky. I thought I didn’t like the song choice but it sounded good. I just didn’t like the super red lips, leather outfit and brooch in her hair.

Haeley Vaughn – I wanna hold your hand
I liked it but not her. Dark skinned black girl and all white…good choice. Not! I thought her version was good but her voice was cracking like crazy. She has presence. I agree that technically it was not great. But I still want to see what she can bring next week.

Lacey Brown – Landslide
OOOUUUCCCHHH!!!! The Dixie Chicks and Stevie Nicks are kicking in their tv sets. She was off key, pitchy, and just plain terrible. When she listens back she will cry. I think she can sing. She needs to find her vibe and get over her nerves.

Michelle DeLamor – Fallin’
Nice, sultry and gorgeous. It was too safe for her voice and style. I thought she did well but I need to see something else from her for her to make it to the Top 10.

Didi Benami – The Way I Am
Beautiful. Perfect for her voice and safe. She will have to turn it up in the future to stay in the long run. But she will stay another week. I think it was best of the night.

Siobham Magnus – Wicked Game
Too deep. Strange performance. But she is a good singer. She will probably slip under the radar and be around next week.

Crystal Bowersox - Hand in My Pocket
Safe performance but I liked it. Top 10 easy.

Katie Stevens – Feeling good
Voice not strong enough for this song. Kitten performance but a tiger song.

Summary

I think Paige and Lacey are going home. Paige was too forgettable and Lacy was just plain awful. I hope the boys do better tomorrow. ‘Ellen was okay but doesn’t add much to the panel. I miss Paula! With Simone gone, this show is dead in the water. Randy and Kara better start working on the resume. Kara is more raunchy and rude this year. Not sure if its her real personality shining through or if she is just caddy? I’m going to keep my eyes on her. That’s it for now. nite
